Sir Robert Christison (1797- 1882).
Physician and toxicologist.
Professor of Medical jurisprudence at Edinburgh, 1822.
He was the key witness in many criminal trials a.o. the trial of serial killer William Burke (1792- 1829).
He was also the physician to Queen Victoria in Scotland and was president of a.o. British Medical Association.
Published in 1829 a treatise on poisons. He did not hesitate to risk his own life ingesting poisons.
