Son of Nicolaus, 9 Fürst Esterhazy von Galantha and Lady Sarah Child-Villiers.
In 1868 he married Grafin Marie von und zu Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg and in 1879 Prinzessin Eugenie von Croy.
